Angels Around Us/Anjos ao Nosso Redor

This weekend's been absolutely crazy. I've been extended another calling in the Church to throw on top of everything. I've gotten to the point where I realize that I need to lighten my load so I can keep ahold of my commitments - those who know me know that I do not like to do things half baked. This was the reason that I missed the blog post last week - so many things to do! I shall have to keep this message brief...but I'm determined to keep this goal!

Elder Nelson shared today in a broadcast the meaning of the word angel and its connection with the Greek roots. E. Nelson spoke specifically about angels, both seen and unseen.
You who are part of the Church are angels, messengers of the good news that Christ has given us always. You don't have to be seen to carry a great message to others, as I hope the video by Gordon B. Hinckley has demonstrated. When you do simple acts of kindness, and when you reach out to those in need, you are silent bearers of the gospel in your lives. The greatest way to spread the good news is by living it, as Pres. Uchtdorf mentions in his April 2011 Conference talk:

The most effective way to preach the gospel is through example. If we live according to our beliefs, people will notice. If the countenance of Jesus Christ shines in our lives, if we are joyful and at peace with the world, people will want to know why. One of the greatest sermons ever pronounced on missionary work is this simple thought attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi: “Preach the gospel at all times and if necessary, use words.”

A semana passada foi absolutamente doida. Recebi outro chamado na Igreja para manusear assim como todas as outras coisas na vida. Chegou ao ponto que percebi que preciso enlevar a minha carga para conseguir lidar com os compromissos - os que me conhecem bem sabem que não gosto de fazer coisas de meia tigela. Esta é a razão que perdi escrever uma postagem do blog na semana passada - tantas coisas a fazer! Terei que fazer esta mensagem muito breve...mas estou determinado a cumprir esta meta minha de escrever no blog!

O Élder Nelson hoje compartilhou numa transmissão o significado da palavra "anjo" e a sua conexão com raízes gregos. O E. Nelson discursou especificamente sobre os anjos vistos e não-vistos.
Vocês quem são membros da Igreja são anjos, mensageiros das boas notícias que Cristo sempre tem nos trazido. A gente não tem que ser visto para levar uma mensagem maravilhosa para outros, como espero ter demonstrado com o vídeo pelo Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley. Quando fizerem atos simples de bondade, e quando estender a mão aos necessitados, são portadores silentes do evangelho em suas vidas. A melhor maneira de espalhar as boas notícias é por as viver, como o Pres. Uchtdorf mencionou em seu discurso da Conferência de abril de 2011:

A maneira mais eficaz de pregar o evangelho é por meio do exemplo. Se vivermos de acordo com nossas crenças, as pessoas vão notar. Se o semblante de Jesus Cristo brilhar em nossa vida, se estivermos alegres e em paz com o mundo, as pessoas vão querer saber o motivo disso. Um dos maiores sermões já proferidos sobre o trabalho missionário é este simples pensamento, atribuído a São Francisco de Assis: “Pregue o evangelho a toda hora e, se necessário, use palavras”.
